Summer is packed with many fun activities. In the meantime, I'm praying for Zachary's 4th grade teacher. We do not know who it will be at this point, but He does.

That's it, that's all.
Zachary is officially a 4th grader. He is so excited, and I think ready for summer.
Wednesday was the awards ceremony. He received the Spanish award, A & B Honor Roll, Great Effort, Excellent Conduct, Bible, Book Report, and Spelling Award this year. Zachary enjoyed Spanish this year, which is not a surprise with the great teacher we have. He surprised Mr. Hernandez when he was asked to recite part of the Lord's Prayer and recited the whole thing instead. This is at the ceremony.
Miss Trout and Zachary on the last day. She was the biggest blessing this year. She embraced him and made every effort to help Zachary along. She truly is an excellent teacher! Secretly, I would love to have her next year.

Pictures and Papers
I had to post a few pictures Zachary colored, since he does not particularly enjoy coloring. These are amazing for him, and I did check to make sure he had written his name on the back. Also he wrote a cute paper, and then I wanted to include a note I found...

Paper says: I could play chess on the computer and I could do a scholars mate. I want to be a grandmaster. I don't have to college to be a grandmaster. To be a grandmaster, I have to practice with my dad, go to chess club, and practice on the computer. I will play chess in a tournament to get better.

Then Zachary started talking about a "senseless rampage of brutality," which I'm not 100% sure where this came from, but the stories he told and wrote got more and more dramatic. Here is one I came across...
The Lady had the Dog, by Zack Sansing
Once upon a time, a lady washed my dog. The lady's name is Holly, my mom, and the dog's name is Pete. The dog made the lady's jacket dirty. When the dog jumped and messed up, the lady went on a senseless rampage of brutality. What should Pete have done not to be on a senseless rampage of brutality? The End.
Anytime anyone got in the least bit of trouble, they would face a "senseless rampage of brutality". I'll be glad when he moves on from this. You should see the looks I'm getting from people when he talks about this in public.

Three day mission trip
OK, not really, but that is how my legs ached after the past three days. Thursday, we started unloading for a garage sale at about 1:30. We worked until 9P. Friday, we opened at 7A, but I had to leave at 2P to grab Zachary from school. It was nice to hang out with my aunts and my step-dad for a day, and my wonderful husband took care of Zachary. He got him picked up, studied for a history test and back to school for Friday.

John let Zachary play the first nine holes. Tournament play is a little different, so I think Zachary got bored. Overall he did pretty good for such a long day. We got home at 3P and crashed out before we went to dinner. Three successful days despite a little wear-and-tear on our bodies.
Saturday came doubly early with a 5A alarm to start the day for our Clear Lake Christian School Golf Tournament. I have to brag on my husband. He raised over $30,000 for the tournament. So many of his friends were gracious enough to make contributions and not even play. It turned out to be a long, but successful day.
Half of the winning team's golfers!!!

Spring musical
Thursday was the Spring Musical. It was all about Amerikids and how they could pray and support their country. I just love Zachary's school. This year, they moved Zachary to the middle of the stage for the singing parts. They come down to the main stage for the overall musical, but all the kids stand behind them to sing the remainder of the songs. I was nervous because normally his therapists (and other teachers) sit on stage, but he is always waaayyy to the left or the right and never in the center. How would they help him stay focused if he needed it? Eeeek!
Zachary got a part as one of the army men. They did a number with all the branches of the military. His group had a few moves, marched off and the next branch came on. Despite a few skipped lines by some other actors, which threw everything off, he did great!

I know you can't see much, but he is the 2nd guy on the left. But notice that he was out there, with no assistance. So proud! If you can see those big, white pillars in the back, Zachary stood right in front of the one on the left. That is center. He did pretty good, despite his little gun had some stuff come off on his hands and he was bothered by that. The main bummer is 8 of the 12 ceiling lights were out, so our video recording turned out dark.
Once the Spring musical is over, we are clearly near the end of school. It is bitter sweet.

Field Day
Do you remember Field Day at school? Oh, the heat, but the games were so fun! Well, I don't remember the fun part, I just remember the heat as a child. I did not really care for Field Day. Maybe that was because I wasn't very athletic, and like every child wanted to win.
We had a great time though! Zachary's teacher was very enthusiastic throughout the day. And one nice thing about Zachary's school is that every year the events have been different, so it has made it more interesting. They did 17 activities, but most of the time I was watching the event and forgot to take pictures. Here are a a few though...
And if you look closely, he is in the lead & won!
He was serious about this!

Miss Trout's 4th grade Field Day Friends: Jay Chavez, Bryan Tran, Zack Sansing, Nathan Davis, Nicholas Wilson, Joseph Otto, and Tirk White (back row). Katelynn Kaufhold, Daniella Scarpeta, Aeryn Herbert, Megan Ritthaler, Brianna Harrelson, and Alyssa Davis (front row)

Ah, the best part of Field Day...snow cones!

Scout weekend
Last Saturday was the Scout Fair. This is where Scouts from all the surrounding areas come and set-up booths. Some are informational but most are for fun. They have the ultimate Derby race, and wow, there are so many activities. It takes the whole day to see it all, but we were only there for a few hours unfortunately.
Their Pack taught Marbles to earn a belt loop award...more playing than teaching.
Not sure why, but this and putt putt were the favorite activity.
Then on Sunday, they have this cool volunteer group that offers to give Scouts a flight in a little plane, and learn a few things about flying. They had lunch for us and then a quick 30 minute flight over to the bay and back. Pretty neat, huh!
